The Op Shop Taupo
Opening hours: Monday to Friday 10am-4pm, Saturday 10am-2pm.
St Andrew's Anglican Church, Taupo Baptist Church, St Patrick's Catholic Church, St Paul's Union Church and Church@109 each have representatives on the Interchurch Welfare Society committee.
The Op Shop is staffed by volunteers, with two part time paid staff members and a paid manager who manages the staff, oversees the quality of the stock and reports back to the Interchurch Welfare Society monthly meetings.
None of the churches benefit from any of these funds. Members of the wider Taupo community who are in need of help are the beneficiaries.
Organisations needing help for their clients can apply to the monthly Interchurch meeting.
The shop sells good quailty, clean clothing, bric a brac, toys and books. The Op Shop has distributed over $1.3million dollars since 1973. Because it is a registered charity, all of The Op Shop information is public and can be found on the Charities Commission website.
Volunteers and good quality donations are always welcome. Please contact the Manager (07) 378 6595, find us on Facebook or email directly to [email protected]
